Shelled walnuts have various types, with the highest quality ones being produced in mountainous and cool regions of Iran, particularly in the western and northwestern parts. They are generally categorized into two colors: dark (brown) and light (white).
They are packaged in 5 and 10-kilogram cartons.
The most commonly used grading for shelled walnuts in the Iranian market is as follows:
Khoreshti (brown)
Shekari (light brown to brown)
Momtaz (white)
Super (completely white and light)
